All the exposure videos online are just getting it wrong, they're missing the point... MAGIC is way more than just secrets, way more than just 'how it's DONE'...

It's about 'HOW it's done'.

There's been so much focus in the last years on FOOLING people that the concept of MAKE IT EXCITING and ENTERTAINING seems to have gone out the bloody window - and it driving me nuts.

A magic trick has now become just about the ENDING - it's porn magic, and if you want to perform for real people you will find out soon enough, you have to give them more than a flap card, you have to take them on JOURNEY.

That's why on Magic On The Go I focus a lot on the history and presentation of magic, the METHOD is just a tiny part of the whole picture.

This work in progress is a perfect example.

As you know from the previous videos in this playlist, I am developing this PAPER BAG EGG BAG routine slowly, gags, scripting, physicality and bits of business, stuff that works, stuff that falls flat, mistakes and epiphanies... I'm not editing anything out, I'm keeping it all in so that - hopefully - one day we can all get to see this grow and blossom into a fully polished routine that kills - hopefully!

This is PART 2 of the journey. It's a recent live performance and brutally frank self-critique. PLUS some awesome extra magical additions.

It's the only way to learn, and I don't mind being your guinee pig.

You see, when it comes to performing new magic, you have to DO IT!

Perfection is a disease, you have to go out and try it, always with a plan of course, always with rehearsal but just bloody DO it.

This is the British NIKE rule of magic, JUST BLOODY DO IT.

Always record every show, always take notes, always watch the video but also just LISTEN to the audio, you'll be amazed how much you can learn but just listening. The rhythm, pregnant pauses, stepping on audience reactions, gags that fail - or hit harder than you thought, listening is a wonderful tool.
