Magic on the Go is kicking ass, with new members and an ever growing library of stunning, curated material to draw upon and use as your own, personal secret weapon in the world of magic.
You wanna be a pro and entertain a crowd? We have stuff for you. You wanna get started and learn the basics? We have stuff for you too.
I am very proud of this months upload it represents the kind of research and work that C2P took. The love for the history and giants upon whose shoulders we stand. I discuss everything from effect, to performance, to connecting and selling the magic as I describe the secrets of the actual tricks because in the end SELLING the trick is the biggest secret of all.
For the card fanatics I have three lost sleights:
The Koynini D.L. A snappy and snazzy way to pop that D.L.
Valentine Lay person D.L. - A super easy and natural D.L. that someone else just MUST have already invented…
AWESOME HANKY FORCE, Also, a lovely card move, from a chap called Ripley, that kicks the cleanliness of the hanky force up to a whole new level.
Continuing the T.T. Masterclass come two special videos:
The Tabbed Tips exploring modified designs for the T.T. that make for cleaner handlings.
The Hook Tip, where Steve adds a wonderful vintage technique to the classic T.T. to up the usefulness of the device. Hidden somewhere within this explanation, is Edward Victor’s real method for his excellent Salt trick that uses no T.T. at all…
For the parlor and stage magi is a detailed teach-in on the wonderful E.G. Brown effect ‘The Nap Hand’.
Not only does Steve detail the various techniques used by Brown and his friends, but Steve adds original ideas, performance tips and techniques that bring this terrific plot into the modern age.
By the time you’re done learning this you will have an brilliant performance piece that makes the audience feel special.
The Nap Hand, described the original methods as well as Steve’s additions and sleights,
Easy Nap, details an almost self working method using a classic prop you probably already have.
Nap Hand Bag details Steve’s adaptation of a Douglas Dexter effect to the plot of The Nap Hand with fun and devastatingly clean results.
Valentine Hold-out, Steve explains his simple device for getting into the E.G.BROWN Nap Hand trick without any fuss, a terrific idea that could be used in so many effects.
The Valentine Device, From Steve’s walk around days comes a top secret device - easy to make at home - that Steve has never tipped to a single soul. A device designed to deliver a load of sponge balls into your hand for the big finale for your Sponge Ball routine. Not only does Steve’s device enable a nanosecond, ultra clean and fumble free steal, but you reset the whole damn thing IN FRONT of the audience, getting ready for the next group. This is gold for anyone hopping tables.
Two fabulous stunts are explained as well.
Hypnotizing a Coin, you will love this stunt where you seem to control a coin to do as you will. Super easy, entertaining and with an impact way greater than the simple method.
The Balancing Card, here Steve explores the classic stunt of balancing a glass on the edge of a playing card, adding some new ideas to this lost effect. Try this once and you’ll never leave home without it. Looks like incredible skill. LOOKS like….
Finally we have Steve’s exploration into:
The Owen Clark Coin Stand, wait what? Yep this one is gonna shock you. It’s amazing how we take stuff for granted, take another look at this, you’ll be glad you did. Nothing but clean visual magic. Continuing with Steves obsession with the lost magic genius, Owen Clark, Steve gives proper credit where it’s due. Describing the original device and what he believes to be Clark’s updated model. Adding coin sleights, vanishes and productions, this is not just a single trick but a mini act. All of the variations revolve around the brilliant P.T Selbit (the inventor of Sawing a Lady in Half) four coin routine that pushes the device to the max. Steve mashes thoughts, moves and techniques to craft a fast, visual, non stop four coin miracle that builds to a stunning climax…
Just so you know, next month features some killer stuff, but the main feature is an actual piece from Steve’s Castle award winning close up show, the real work on his Repeat Card To Wallet routine. It’s a biggie for Steve to tip such detail, but he’s laying it all out there for MOTG members, including loads of live performance footage. It’s a one month only exclusive coming to MOTG in March.
But let's not just focus on all the new material, don’t forget the terrific stuff already up the on MOTG for you to use, check out the section on the CONUS ACES, probably the greatest parlor card trick of all time, no one has ever gone into such detail, this was Steve’s favorite trick for drunk, belligerent crowds, so that should tell you how high he ranks it.
Also check out the COIN STACK, Steve’s ultra fast and streamlined handling and presentation for the classic stack of coins.
You can learn everything from making balloon animal, to producing a full glass of water from a paper bag thats been tabbed with a knife.
So much here, just pick a video and hit play.
And did you see the entire ACT Steve put together using material from MOTG, yep just the first of many.
Keep up the good work on the forums and please spread the word, let’s keep all the Magic ON The Go…:)
