Hi and happy new year!!

Some knowledge in magic, comes through long research and some through sudden necessity.

This came suddenly.

For many years, I have used various versions of Wayne Rogers’ Appearing Pole. The trick popularized and marketed by Wayne Rogers of New Zealand, but a method that actually goes back way further (You’ll be surprised to find out where!).

Unfortunately, Wayne is no longer with us, and it is almost impossible to find any version of the Pole trick on the Magic market, even in the vintage magic shops. Whether they be appearing straws, appearing poles, appearing ladders or the like there’s just so few out there.

Recently, I was touring with The Illusionists, and I have a routine which uses the appearing giant straw, but my straw was so old that it was cracking and bending and needed to be replaced.

After a frantic search and not being able to find any straws, we realized they’re just not being made and how few were now available.

With some research, and the help of a couple of very good friends, I discovered the true secret behind the making of the straws and where to find the actual components for making the straw YOURSELF.

This ‘secret’ needs to be recorded and shared with members of Magic on the Go, in order to allow this fabulous trick to stay in the magical archives and repertoires of today’s and future magicians.

I’m happy to say that I WAS able to make a second straw and had a few moments of discovery myself.

And if I can make it.. SO CAN YOU!

And so it gives me great pleasure to share with you, the true SECRETS behind the appearing pole, WHERE you can get the necessary materials, and HOW to make one on the fly.

Finally, I just want to say that this trick is limited only by your imagination, Wayne had terrific ideas.. I’m excited to see what you create next.
