Jack Miller!

If you’ve ever seen the Miracle Factory vintage videos of Jack Miller lecturing, you’ll realize how skillful the maestro was, and also how incredibly cranky :-) Seriously, he makes Vernon look like a marshmallow!

His Egg Bag routine and method is unlike anyone else's. I learned the Jack Miller Egg Bag when I was a kid, but never performed it. Now that I am re-studying the egg bag I’ve come full circle to this routine. And thanks to the videos of Miller performing, I now see the trick in it’s full glory.

Miller’s approach to the Egg bag is unlike any other, especially in that it can use an ungimmicked bag.

When it was marketed by Tannens back in the day, and in England, by Unique Magic, they created a gimmicked bag to go with it.

But I think it’s quite telling that in the film we have a Miller performing the trick, it’s a regular bag that he often tosses out into the audience during the routine.

I want to thank Jeff Hobson for sending me an original Jack Miller egg bag, it’s not necessary, of course, to achieve the Miller effect, but it can add a layer of deception.
