This leapt out at me recently, a routine that I had read about many years ago, suddenly came to life.
I had once read a brief, impossible sounding performance-only description of this trick and often wondered if it was possible or as good as the reviewer made it sound, well, footage of a performance surfaced on the internet and it was better than I’d hoped. Luxor Gali Gali was a brilliant and phenomenally successful performer in the 1940’s, one of a long line of Egyptian Gali Gali men, Gali Gali means QUICKLY QUICKLY which is exactly how he performed. The trick? It was a coins across routine that he was said to have done ON STAGE for a massive Vegas audience and presented in a way that made it PLAY. It’s a lesson in magic, talk about ‘packs small plays big’!
I’ve analyzed the performance and will teach it to you. It’s gone right into my own show, that’s how much I think of this routine.
Oh and it’s technically incredibly simple, which means all you have to do is PRESENT IT, and that’s the easy part… right?
