ARMCHAIR STORIES
Armchair Stories.
I’m thrilled to start this series, as it’s something different, new and classic all rolled into one.
I love The Magicians Podcast, it was so great hearing modern day magicians discuss magic. But it got me thinking, I wish they’d been doing that 75 years ago, or more. Imagine hearing Malini or Dante discuss their careers or Houdini throw out tips on publicity? Imagine watching or listening while you work to the words of Ganson or David Devant, how cool would that be? Well that's exactly what I'm doing here.
I’ll start with one of my own recent adventures, and then - and here's the fun part - 90% of the posts will be in the words of the past greats, and perhaps a few more obscure masters you may not have heard of... Snippets of their amazing advice written 50-100 years ago but performed to camera by yours truly. So you can listen or watch, like a true podcast.
Sounds a bit nuts, but this will rock. You will be amazed at how relevant the advice of yesteryear is to magicians of today.
The first post is - as promised - the final chapter in the saga of the DeBiere Ball Dropper, finally here's the TALE OF THE DROPPER, and a whole bunch more.

ARMCHAIR STORIES #1 - TALE OF THE DROPPER
Over a year ago, a chance comment sent me on a journey to find a mythical device... did I find it, or was the Universe messing with me. What follows is a true story of strange coincidence, bizarre gadgets of yesteryear and perhaps someone reaching out from beyond the grave to set me straight. Yo...

If you know the...

ARMCHAIR STORIES #3 - THE ROSINI EFFECT
The Rosini effect is a collection of stories about Paul Rosini. One of the top American nightclub magicians in the 30’and 40’s. Rosini is my idol, a weird thing considering he wrote very little and as of now their seems to be zero footage of him performing. It’s what OTHERS wrote that has inspire...

I don’t need to tell you that we are living in strange and exciting days.
