Now we start to look at glass suspensions.
have a fave method that will be tipped soon, but we have to start with the man who started the trend of suspending glasses of water on the fingertips, Robert Harbin. I’ve read the reviews of his early shows and he definitely performed this routine for the paying public (as ‘Ned William’s’ ) and when Davenport’s released this trick for sale the advertising was intense, catalogues packed with full page photo ads, it was considered a coup for them to be selling it. It must have been talked about amongst magicians.
The gimmick, must have been a little hard to make back then, but now you can make a dozen in a few minutes. I REALLY think we should revitalize this effect, and the Harbin Glass is a fabulous starting point.
